Commercial banks to observe extended hours

Luanda – Commercial banks have been authorised to extend the working hours, from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm on December 21-31.

The measure was announced Thursday by the State Minister and Head of the Civil Office to the President, Adão de Almeida.

Addressing a press conference on Public Calamity Situation, coming into force on 12 December 2020 - 10 January 2021, the official said the commercial banks will be secured by 75 percent workforce.

Adão de Almeida said that the move is intended to avoid large concentration of people as well respond to demand recorded in that period of the year.

He also announced mandatory protection measures, with stress to wearing face masks in public places and social distancing.
