Cabo Verde wants to share experience on health sector and blue economy with Cabinda province

Cabinda - The ambassador of the Republic of Cabo Verde to Angola, Júlio César Freire de Morais, expressed today, in Cabinda, his interest in cooperating with the authorities and the private sector, in the fishing, agriculture, renewable energy and health sectors.

The intention was expressed by the diplomat, during the courtesy meeting, with the vice-governor of Cabinda for the Political and Social sector, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira, as part of his three-day working visit.

According to Júlio de Morais, through investments and exchanges between governments, municipalities and private sector agents, his country can transmit its vast experience in production and in the training and qualification of senior and technical-professional staff.

As an example, he said that Cape Verde produces and exports medicines, including to Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) and West African countries, where they are part of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

He said that they currently produce large quantities of canned and frozen tuna, which is mostly exported to Japan.

“Tourism constitutes a fourth of that country’s domestic product, generating employment, wealth and, above all, foreign exchange entering the country,” he added.

The ambassador said that his country also has great experience in the field of renewable energy, especially solar and photovoltaic,

On his first day of work in Cabinda, the ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde in Angola, Júlio César Freire de Morais, visited the Miguel Maria Nzau Puna Maritime Passenger Terminal, the Cabinda Regional Museum and the trip to the municipality of Cacongo , where he visited the town of Chinfuca and the mouth of the Chiloango River, where slaves were shipped to the European and American continents.ING/JFC/AC/DOJ
