Luanda – Angola’s trade balance recorded in the first quarter of this year a positive assessment of around 4.5 billion kwanzas, as a result of the behaviour of the price of oil, the main export product.

Compared to the previous, there was an increase of a total value of exports of 42.7%, according to the bulletin published by the National Statistics Institute (INE) reached ANGOP.

The results of exports amounted to 6.3 billion kwanzas, compared to 5. 9 billion recorded in the fourth quarter of 2021.

In the first quarter of 2021, the value of exports was 4.4 billion kwanzas.

Fuels led the volume of exports, with 95.3%, while other products, including diamonds (3.8%) and minerals and mining, machinery, equipment and appliances” with  0.2% each, in relation to the value total.

Of this group, exports of the "large" economic category of goods are fuels, with 94.6%, consumer goods, with 4.0%, intermediate goods, with 1.2% and capital goods, with 0.2%.

In the same period, imports increased by 15.8%, with a value of Kz 1. 829 billion against 1,808 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The results of re-exports of various products reached, in this period, 84.9 billion kwanzas against 333.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021, with a variation of 75.5%.

In the field of product re-imports, the figures point to amounts of Kz 6.2 billion, with a variation of 0.6%, compared to the fourth quarter of 2021.

The main continents for exports were Asia (73.4%), Europe (16.9%), Africa (3.4%) and Central and South America (2.9%), in relation to the total value.

In terms of imports, the European continents (46.5%), Asia (2.8%), Africa (7.0%) and Central and South America stand out with 6.9% in relation to the total value.

In relation to total exports, in the period under analysis, China (50.9%), India (12.3%), France (6.6%), UK (4 .5%) and United Arab Emirates with 2.8% in relation to the total value.

In terms of imports, China with 13.4%, Belgium with 12.5%, Portugal with 11.7%, the Netherlands with 6.6% and the United States  with 5.4% appear as the main partners.

In the case of imports, in the same period, products such as machinery, equipment and appliances stand out with 19.3%, fuels with 18.6%, agricultural products with 14.9%, chemicals with 13.2% and vehicles and others means of transport” with 7.8%.

In terms of imports, products of major economic categories were classified, such as consumer goods, with 33.9%, intermediate goods with 28.0%, capital goods with 19.6%, and vofuels with 18.5%.

According to INE, the findings for the 1st quarter of the 2022, on Foreign Trade, among the countries, are still provisional, based on data provided by the General Tax Administration (AGT), Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas. , Agriculture and Fisheries.

However, the respective updated values ​​will be compiled according to the availability of information received by INE, during the year, and only in the yearbook will they be considered definitive.
