Caconda - The productive capacity of four cooperatives and three peasant associations in the municipality of Caconda, Huíla province, has been reinforced with the delivery of seven small mills, plows, hoes, seeds and fertilizers, purchased with funds from the Hunger Fight Program and poverty.

The delivery ceremony (on Monday) which falls within the festivities of February 4th, the Day of the Beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, was presided over by the administrator, Nandim Capenda, who congratulated the men in the field for the work they have done, highlighting that he feels “relieved”, because the commitment to production is a fact.

“We have demonstrated for some time that we are capable, we have fertile land and water potential. However, what we need from our farmers is the will to make it happen, which is why we add small processing industries to the usual incentives,” he said.

The cooperatives Tchivala Tchilimba, Tulingui Kamue-Kamue, Sanjuka, Ukãi Wapama and associations Ongusu Yu Kãe, Eliongoluilo Lia Kãe and Samba benefited.

In addition to this delivery activity, the day was marked by the laying of the first stone of the construction work of four evolutionary rooms, in the Bissapa sector, in Waba, as well as the inauguration of the bovine vaccination program in that area.

The municipality has 4,715 km² where more than 200 thousand inhabitants live. It is limited to the North by the municipalities of Ganda (Benguela) and Longonjo (Huambo), to the East by Caála (Huambo) and Chipindo, to the South by Chicomba and to the West by Caluquembe. MS/CF/DOJ
