Dundo - The cutting of a 46 carat rough diamond, found in 2018 at the Lulo mine in the province of Lunda Norte produced three precious stones, one of which is a heart shaped 15.2 carat, says a note from Endiama E.P. sent to Angop on Friday.

The cutting of the diamond, which resulted in three stones was done in Belgium beginning early this year and concluded in November, the note says.

The communiqué adds that the other two diamonds resulting from this cutting process are two 3.3 and 2.3 carat stones, respectively.

The main stone of the group was classified by Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) as having intense orange pink coloration, with few inclusions (degree of clarity VVS1), and excellent classifications both for cutting and symmetry.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of ENDIAMA E.P., Ganga Júnior, added that the results obtained from this diamond constitute physical and visible evidence of the great potential of the Lulo mine, which by the quality and characteristics of the diamonds it has produced, reinforces confidence in the future of the national diamond industry.
