Luanda - The organizations and personalities nominated for the 10th edition of the SIRIUS Awards were presented to the media on Monday, in an event led by the president of the jury, the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço.

The Financial Sector category includes BAI, BFA and Standard Bank, while the Non-Financial category includes Casais, Omatapalo and Sonangol, while the Entrepreneurship category includes ASSC, Narisrec, Octosea and Pescaria Mormolo.

Azule Energy, Carrinho, Catoca, Omatapalo and Sonangol are part of the Social Responsibility Award category, and David Maciel from Carrinhos business group, Hélder Araújo from the Casais Group and Luís Lélis from BAI were nominated for Manager of the Year.

For Digital/Technological Development, there are BAI, BNA and EMIS, and again BAI, Casais and Standard Bank in the category of the Human Capital Development Program Award.

On the occasion, Ana Dias Lourenço praised the work of excellence that has been carried out by national companies in the most diverse fields, increasing the difficulty of the jury in choosing the nominees.

The First Lady added that the country is in a phase of rapid expansion and that it is therefore more urgent than ever to invest in areas that are critical to its development, such as education, innovation and other sectors of activity.

For Ana Dias Lourenço, Angola and its business community have been excellent in their ability to prosper, despite adversity.

The First Lady pointed out that entrepreneurs are paving the way for innovation in new sectors, which is why they have to be able to keep up with these changes and capitalize on the opportunities.

"In order to achieve a stronger and more competitive economy, it is imperative that all economic agents join forces, creating conditions of excellence to speed up this process, for the sake of our country's sustainability," the First Lady said.

More than 60 candidates applied for the SIRIUS AWARDS and three or four were chosen in each of the seven categories to be honored.

The awards will be decided directly by the members of the jury.

In addition to these categories, there will be a special prize, which will only be revealed at the awards gala on April 11, when all the winners will be revealed.

The SIRIUS AWARD is an initiative promoted by Deloitte, which aims to recognize good business management practices and projects with an impact on Angola's economic and social development.

The winners receive public recognition and a trophy.

The first edition of the SIRIUS Prize took place in 2011.ML/AC/TED/AMP
