Luanda – Poland´s Ambassador to Angola, Piotr Mysliwiec, this Thursday in Luanda considered insufficient the volume of annual business transactions between Poland and Angola, given the potential of the two countries.

At the end of a audience granted to him by the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Angola (AIPEX), Lello Francisco, the Polish diplomat said that the balance of trade between Poland and Angola is not satisfactory, being estimated at about 30 million dollar per year, a value below potential and opportunities of both countries.

According to the diplomat, Poland mainly imports from Angola limestone and wood, due to that, for him it does not reflect the business opportunities that Angola provides and to turn it around the diplomat advocates the need to publicise Angola´s potential and business opportunities.

To Piotr Mysliwiec, the Angola-Poland Business Forum is seen as a perfect opportunity for Poland to make its economic and business potential better known and for that, he highlighted, it is crucial to increase the cooperation level and strengthen relations with AIPEX, as well as with other Angolan officials and institutions.

The ambassador said that the meeting with the AIPEX chairman served to tune up preparations for the coming of the Polish business and economic mission to Angola, for the Angola-Poland Economic Forum, to be held on 8 and 9 February.

Piotr Mysliwiec said that his country´s delegation would be represented by 12 companies, particularly those linked to high technologies, such as some specialised in border control and defence and others from the Information Technology (IT) and financial sector.

On the other hand, the ambassador said that the signing of some agreements is being prepared, particularly with AIPEX and its counterpart in Poland.

On his turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Private Investment and Export Agency (AIPEX), Lello Francisco, said that the Angola-Poland Economic Forum will be attended by national business people from all segments of economic activity.
