Luanda - Over 300 private investment initiatives/intentions, estimated at over USD 3 billion, have been received by the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX) from August 2018 to November 2020, with a view to increasing Angolan economic diversification.

According to AIPEX director, Lello Francisco, who was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the first trade and industry conference between Angola and ECOWAS, much of these investment intentions have already been implemented, whilst others are in the execution phase.

He pointed to the sectors of trade, industry, construction, agriculture and services as the main areas that attract domestic and foreign investors.

By July, AIPEX had registered a total of 286 private investment proposals, forecasting the creation of 19,190 jobs if they were fully implemented in almost the whole country.

In addition to these investments, Lello Francisco said that AIPEX has also established partnerships with chambers of commerce and industry in various countries, with a view to attracting more investors for Angola.
