Saudi business group to invest more than USD200 million in Angola

Luanda - The business group Eximfinance, from Saudi Arabia, plans to invest between 200 to 300 million dollars in several projects in Angola, in three years, with emphasis on the agricultural and energy sectors, the president of the institution, Salah Ibrahim Al Nasser reported today.

Salah Ibrahim Al Nasser, who was speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the signing of two memoranda between the Angola/Saudi Arabia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Luanda/Bengo Special Economic Zone, said that in Angola they intend to invest in the diversification of the economy, as well as in construction.

By way of example, he made it known that on this first visit to Angola, he signed an agreement with a farm for the production of chicken.

This project, he said, is located close to Luanda and is budgeted at €35 million, with authorization from the Government, and construction is expected to start within two months.

In terms of energy, he expressed interest in partnerships in various areas, such as dams and solar energy.

He revealed that they are also looking at the hotel industry, as they intend to build five-star hotels, so they hope to find partners soon.

In turn, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Angola Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Siyame, praised the arrival of the group of business group from Eximfinance, which allows Angolan businesspeople to maintain contacts with them, for possible partnerships.

The president of the Board of Directors of the Special Economic Zone (ZEE) Luanda/Bengo, Manuel Pedro, reiterated that this institution has had a close approach with promoters and investors, through the chambers of commerce and industry.

In 2023, ZEE signed a set of industrial installation projects worth USD5.6 billion, for the most varied sectors such as hospitals and agri-food.
