Cape Town- Angolan main diamond companies ENDIAMA, SODIAM and CATOCA, have signed, in Cape Town, South Africa, contracts and partnerships for development and efficiency of the mining activity in the country.

According to the representatives of the companies, the last days of the International Conference on Mining in Africa held in Cape Town, served to sign contracts for the transfer of technology, knowledge and equipment acquisition.

ENDIAMA’s geology director, Mubuabua Yambissa, said the company managed to sell two large projects with acceptable geological potential.

He said the sale represents a milestone in the process aimed at placing the country as the third largest diamond producer in the world.

In his turn, the general manager of Catoca, Benedito Manuel, identified at Indaba Mining alternatives for the problems in the supply chain of the inputs for the production of ammonium nitrate, an essential compound for the detonations that originate the miner.

"We were able to identify the segment of integrated management of mining operations, production geology, and environment, an important mechanism for the company's efficiency," he assured.

The International Conference on Mining in Africa ended Thursday in Cape Town.

One of the largest producers of diamonds and oil, Angola participated with nine companies in the diamond sub-sector, namely ENDIAMA and SODIAM, the mining companies of Catoca, Cuango, Chitotolo, Uari, Yetwene and Furi, as well as Kapu Gems.
