Luanda - Angola's National Diamond Company (Endiama) is going to work on internationalising the diamond sub-sector business in order to broaden its horizons and boost the Angolan industry, the company's chairman, José Ganga Júnior, said Wednesday in Luanda Province.

According to him, this prospect is the result of the fact that, to date, there is no Endiama representative abroad, given its size and corporate purpose.

Speaking at a press conference held as part of the company's review of its activities in 2023, he revealed "We intend to have antennas or productions in countries such as Dubai, China and Hong Kong, in order to boost our industry".

He informed that this year's prospects also include the opening of an Endiama diamond cutting plant, which will not have any shareholdings or partnerships, adding that since Endiama was set up, various projects had led to the creation of more than 20,000 jobs, compared to 12,000 previously.

José Ganga Júnior said that currently the country has a diamond cutting capacity of around 480,000 carats, which corresponds to the installed capacity of 7 factories.
