Luanda - The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, analysed the possible support measures that could be provided by the Government to the Livestock farming Association of Angola (AAPA) and the outlook for the 2024/2025 agricultural campaign.

On Friday in Luanda, the minister chaired a meeting between the economic team of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers and the AAPA, which analysed the association's main concerns

According to the communiqué of the meeting to which ANGOP had access this Saturday, the economic team made the necessary clarifications and accepted the suggestions made by AAPA.

In addition, the calendar for the 2024/2025 agricultural campaign was presented, as well as the lines of financing and guarantees provided for in the General State Budget for 2024.

The parties expressed their commitment to continue working in a coordinated manner to ensure that the 2024/2025 agricultural season is a success.

Promoting the production of widely consumed foodstuffs, with the aim of achieving food self-sufficiency, boosting exports and the processing industry, is a priority for the Angolan Government.

The AAPA presented issues related to the process of implementing PLANAGRÃO, the preparation of the 2024/2025 agricultural year, the implementation of agricultural policy instruments, land management in rural areas and the debts of the Strategic Food Reserve with companies supplying products.
