Luena – The Luena Agribusiness Fair raised a total of 41.2 million kwanzas representing 92 percent of the amount forecasted for the event held from May 27 to 29 in Luean City, eastern Moxico Province.

The organization forecasted a 50 million kwanzas turnover at the unprecedented fair that aimed to salute the 66th anniversary of Luena City.

 

The fair held under the slogan "Hand in hand, together for an increasingly productive Moxico", the fair, an initiative of the municipal administration had the participation of 70 exhibitors, including agricultural cooperatives, associations, agricultural entrepreneurs, public and private companies, as well as entrepreneurs in the clothing and footwear industries.

 

The municipal administrator of Moxico, Quintas Sempieca, said despite the low participation of exhibitors from the total of 150 expected to show up to a reduced number of 70 that displayed products, there’re were good businesses and partnerships between farmers and the people who flocked to the site.

 

The official explained that the agribusiness fair was the way to show the economic potentialities of the municipality, especially in the agriculture sector, where cassava, vegetables and fruit trees are seen as the main products on the rise.
