Consumer Price Index increases 0.06 percent in Angola

Luanda - Luanda - The National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) recorded a variation of 2.21percent from October to November 2023, registering an acceleration of 0.06 percent , the National Statistics Institute (INE) said Wednesday, ANGOP has learnt.

According to the INE’s Rapid Information Sheet (FIR) of the IPCN, in year-on-year terms (November 2022 to November 2023), there has been a 1.39 percent acceleration in the current variation.

INE says the provinces with the lowest price variations were Moxico, with 1.28 per cent, Malanje with 1.40 percent and Benguela with 1.41 percent.

The institution said the provinces with the highest price variations are Luanda with 3.01 percent, Huíla 1.82 percent and Cabinda 1.76 percent, adding that the "Health" category recorded the biggest increase in prices, with a variation of 2.69 percent.

"Food and non-alcoholic drinks" increased 2.61 percent, "Miscellaneous goods and services" 2.49 percent and "Clothing and footwear" went up 2.47 percent, the INE said.

The "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" contributed the most to the increase in the general price level with 1.53 percent in November, followed by the "Miscellaneous goods and services" with 0.17, "Health" with 0.11 percent, "Clothing and footwear" with 0.10%, with the remaining categories contributing less than 0.10%.
