Huambo – The process for the installation of exploration equipment of the approximately 23 billion of rough metal ore mine called "Rare Lands", in the municipality of Longonjo (Huambo province), is due to kick off in the first quarter of 2021 under the Ozango Mineirais company.

The guarantee came from the manager of the company, Edson Paulo Carreiro Nunes, following a public hearing of the project, emphasizing that to obtain the exploration certificate from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Environment, it is necessary to consult the residents near the exploration area, for a better evaluation of the environmental impact.

Edson Nunes said that the next 14 months will be dedicated to the assembly of the equipment, while exploration will take place in 2022, at a time when negotiations are underway with Benguela Railways (CFB) board for the transportation of the metal to Port of Lobito.

Edson Paulo Carreiro Nunes stressed that the exploitation of the "Rare Lands" will contribute to the diversification of the country's economy and the creation of several direct and indirect jobs for local young people.

He said that he hopes that Longonjo residents be able to extract the value of the investment, especially with the institutionalization of the municipalities, and benefit from five percent of the exploitation profits, an important step towards the improvement of local social infrastructure.
