Cape Town - With Angolan companies among the most sought after, the 30th edition of the International Conference on Mining in Africa also dubbed as Mining Indaba, which is taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, ends this Wednesday.

After two intense days of separate conferences involving countries, companies and investors, Mining Indaba today enters a day of business consolidation, partnerships and the possible establishment of memorandums of cooperation.

Moreover, this is the environment in which the 14 participating Angolan companies are living, an atmosphere of exaltation of investors interested in establishing agreements or even passing on experiences of the latest technology in the extractive mining industry.

An example of this is Catoca mining society, which is looking for technologies linked to the production of original agronomy technology applied to mining and transversal sustainability.

Such technology is of the utmost importance at a time when the world is more focussed on the need to preserve and guarantee conditions for future generations.

The national diamond company of Angola (Endiama E.P), after signing several cooperation agreements, most notably with the multinational De Beers, with the aim of promoting the diamond sector, is working hard to attract investment for two "major" kimberlite projects, while SODIAM, whose corporate object is the commercialisation of diamonds, is seeking to establish contacts to "sell its brand" in the lapidary sector.

Angola is attending the event with companies from the diamond subsector, namely ENDIAMA, SODIAM, ENDIAMA MINING, CATOCA, LUELE, CHITOTOLO, FURI, Kaixepa, as well as those from the non-diamond subsector AJ Silva, Geosondas, HM Granitos, Minbos and Shining Star.

This year’s edition was held under the motto “Embracing the power of positive disruption: A bold new future for African mining”.
