Angola's Mineral Resources Ministry highlights investments made in social projects

Luanda - The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (Mirempet) Diamantino Pedro Azevedo on Thursday highlighted the investments made by companies of these sectors in several social projects.

Speaking at a workshop on social responsibility actions and projects in the mineral resources, oil and gas sector, the minister emphasized that health has been a constant priority.

The minister added that the projects developed in various provinces have benefited many users, contributing to an increase in the number of medical appointments, improved ability to diagnose illnesses, training for health professionals and healthcare services.

According to the minister, in the field of education, thousands of students have benefited from investments made by companies that helped to reduce the number of children and young people outside the education system, through the construction of schools, teacher training, digital education training and entrepreneurship and self-employment promotion.

The minister stressed that, recognizing the importance of the environment and biodiversity, companies in the diamond sector have been implementing a series of projects in this area, which is not only a response to growing global concern about climate change and environmental degradation, but also a reflection of the country's commitment to guaranteeing a sustainable future for generations to come.

Diamantino Pedro Azevedo encouraged companies in the diamond sector to continue investing in social actions and projects, promote greater publicity of achievements in this field, in order to make visible the sector's commitment to helping communities and contributing to the country's sustainable socio-economic development.HM/AC/AMP
