Moçâmedes - At least eighty six million kwanzas were collected at the first regional fair of National Production in Southern Angola, which took place in the city of Moçâmedes (Namibe).

On assessing the event, the director of the provincial office for Integrated Economic Development, Dulce Maquevela, said that the results of the fair, which was held over four days, were positive.

She said that the proceeds came from the sale of various products linked to agriculture, livestock, fishing, industry, floriculture and trade.

"It is a satisfactory figure, judging by the participation of 90 exhibitors, of the 100 initially planned, with the participation of three other provinces, Huila, Cunene and Cuando Cubango, as well as the host province, which had the highest number of exhibitors (51)," she said.

The official said that, at the fair, there was equitable representation of the fisheries, agriculture, mining and other sectors, facilitating the exchange of experiences and conducting business.

Besides the sale of these countryside products and others, 50 heads of cattle, 35 of goats and three pigs were also auctioned.
