New TAAG airplanes improve trade balance

Luanda – TAAG flight operations director, José Coelho, said, Monday that Dash 8-400 aircraft fleet is boosting ticket purchasing and help recovering the company trade's balance, due to low operational costs.

Speaking to journalists, on the sidelines of the reception ceremony of the fifth Dash 8-400 aircraft, named as Cunhinga, the official mentioned that the entry on the first fourth machines allowed a reducing in about 30% on domestic and regional tickets cost.

“The aircraft allowed a 30% operational costs reduction, mirroring positively on ticket prices that went the same percentage down. These are factors influencing a growing demand on TAAG's ticket comparing to the first pandemic years.

The first four aircrafts serve domestics routes such as Cabinda (three daily flights), Luena/Moxico (four weekly flights), Ondjiva/Cunene (six weekly flights) and Lubango/Huíla (five weekly flights) and regionally, the company flies Windhoek (Namibe), Kinshasa (RDC) and São Tome and Principe.

Regarding the arrival of the sixth and last fleet´s aircraft purchased from “De Havillande of Canada Limited”, the flight director revealed being scheduled for the coming June.

In his turn, the aircraft commander, Celso Mesquita, said being the first time TAAG brings till the country a machine of the Canadian manufacturer, adding the all previous ones were driven to Angola by “De Havillande of Canada Limited” technicians.
