Uganda and Angola to exchange experience in industrial parks

Luanda – Uganda´s State minister for Foreign Affaris, Henry Okello, Tuesday in Luanda expressed interest in exchanging experiences in management of industrial parks with Angola.

This intention was expressed at the end of a visit to the Special Economic Zone (ZEE), highlighting that in Uganda there is also an industrial zone and due to that he took the opportunity of his visit to Angola to learn how the ZEE works and is managed, as well as to make connections so that the two countries can have partnership between their industrial parks.

Henry Okello was satisfied with the operation of the Special Economic Zone taking into account that it is a place where the national production chain is supplied by the dynamics of the factories assembled in this industrial park.

The Ugandan government official recalled that Angola is very strong in oil production and not long ago his country began extracting this product, so they have come to take advantage of Angola´s experience in the oil field production as well.

Henry Okello also said that they are in the country to address issues about economic diversification, an important factor for the dynamics of the economy, in the certainty that they will leave with good indicators for future benefits of both peoples.                    

Uganda is located in East Africa and has an estimated population of more than 48 million. Its conomy is based on agriculture, where corn, bananas, sweet potatoes, sugar cane, cassava and beans are produced.
