Luanda - The minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança, is participating in the 26th session of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) being held from March 27-31 in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to a statement delivered Sunday to ANGOP, among other relevant activities, the CSTD will present the report on the Review of the National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation and the Study on the Diagnosis of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Angola.
The CSTD is a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the United Nations focal point on the analysis of how science, technology and innovation (STI), including information and communication technologies (ICTs), serve as enablers of the 2030 Agenda.
It acts as a forum for strategic planning, provides forecasts on critical trends concerning STI in key sectors of the economy, environment and society, and draws attention to emerging and disruptive technologies.
The 26th Session of the CSTD will address two priority themes, namely "Technology and innovation for cleaner, more productive and competitive production" and "ensuring safe drinking water and sanitation for all: a science, technology and innovation solution".
