Lisbon - Angolan minister of Education Luísa Grilo Thursday in Lisbon (Portugal) considered UNESCO one of Angola’s partners in development of education at the level of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP).

The minister said Angola’s presidency is intended to bring the participation and contribution of UNESCO at the center of the CPLP.

The official referred to the improvement of quality, the effective and efficient implementation of the actions.

Speaking at a press conference, after the 2nd Meeting of CPLP Ministers of Education, Luísa Grilo highlighted the fact that everyone knows the value that UNESCO has, as well as other United Nations bodies.

Luísa Grilo stressed the cooperation between UNESCO and the CPLP and highlighted

the need to work "together in multilateral cooperation on the field of education, mainly on curriculum and organisation, student mobility and teacher training", according to the realities of each country.

The minister spoke of the importance of bringing the parties together, the existing challenges and the sharing of experience of each country, with a view to increasingly achieving the desired improvement in education systems.

She stressed the importance of UNESCO’s availability to work and seek partners and the availability to provide specialists to participate in the field of curricula, as an "important financial contribution".

The minister said that the most important aspect was "the combined effort", example, among the Member States", but also with UNESCO.

The meeting also addressed "the recovery of lost learning", due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The Angolan minister also addressed an opening session of the ministerial meeting.
