Luanda - Angolan National Commission for UNESCO (CNU-Angola) implemented its action plan for the 2018/2022 period by 75 percent, the chairwoman of the institution and minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, said Wednesday.
Speaking at the end of the 1st Meeting of the Permanent Council of the CNU -Angola, to assess the previous period and to outline new actions, Grilo said the balance is positive, despite the two years of the Covid-19 pandemic that compromised the implementation of 100 per cent of the recommended actions.
According to the Education minister, during the five-year project's implementation several actions were developed in the scope of the UNESCO associated schools, in the domain of sciences, technologies, environment so that the schools can be educated according to the Glossary of curricular terminology of the organization.
Grilo added that during the 2018/2022 period, the country elected an Angolan for UNESCO Executive Commision, underlining that the commission intends to continue working on existing projects to increase initiatives of young people and small inventors and to continue working for the maintenance of Mbanza Congo as a world heritage site.
