Luanda – The Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT), announced Monday the winners of the National Culture and Arts Award 2022 edition.
The announcement was made by the President of the Jury, Maria João.
Talking to the press, the National Director of Culture, Euclides da Lomba, added that the award gala for the winners will be on 10 November, in one of the country's hotels.
The prize, which is attributed annually since 2000 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is considered to be the most important distinctions of the Angolan State aiming to encourage artistic and cultural creation, as well as scientific investigation in human and social sciences.
Since its creation, the prize has already been granted to various scholars, researchers and professionals from different areas of culture and the arts.
Below are the winners
Visual and Plastic Arts category, won by Fernando Alvim;
Cinema and Visual Audio category, Geração 80 Collective;
Dance category, ZAP Contemporary Dance Company;
Social and Human Sciences Investigation category, Michel Mabeko-Tali; Music category, the composer and teacher Mário Rui Silva.
In the Theatre category the prize went to the playwright and theatre director Armando Rosa;
Literature category, won by the poet and founder of the nation, António Agostinho Neto, prize awarded posthumously.
