Huambo – The scientific work “Theater in the process of teaching/learning History”, by the Angolan writer, Ladislau Profirio Amadeu, was presented this Thursday, in Caála, central Huambo Province, in a session attended by lovers of literature.
Under the umbrella of publisher Elavoco from the province of Benguela, the book, with an initial print run of 100 copies, addresses, in three chapters, totaling 80 pages, the methodological and didactic criteria of theater.
The work constitutes a proposal that highlights the need to add the theatricalization component to the Angolan teaching/learning system, to increase academic results and, at the same time, serve as a pedagogical stimulus, both for students and teachers. The book is the result of several research studies and the exercise of the methodology of introducing the performing arts to overcome students' academic difficulties.
Speaking to ANGOP, the author said that the work was designed to expand the knowledge of History students and teachers, through the exhibition of theatrical plays with a methodological bent, aiming at understanding thematic contents and more exhaustive learning.
Heexplained that literary work with scientific criteria comprises the contributions of theater in the History teaching/learning process, taking into account the social and cultural importance in the field of education aimed at the new generation. Ladislau Profirio Amadeu said that after studies carried out in schools in the I and II cycles of secondary education, he concluded that theater in the classroom makes the student more creative, in addition to developing oral skills and learning to get along with people, improve vocabulary, work on the emotional side and increase academic skills and other activities in the didactic forum.
He stressed that the entry into operation of the “Rui Monteiro” Cultural Center in Huambo, recently opened by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, will require greater quality of theater in its professional dimension and the technical insertion of the population's educational process.
For his part, the critic and grammatical linguistic reviewer, Agostino Muenho, highlighted that the work shows theater as another pedagogical tool for students and teachers, whose mechanism allows the dissemination of knowledge in a contextualized and more enlightened proportion of the historical factors administered in educational institutions.
