Luanda- Angolan musician Matias Damásio will be singing at the Talatona Convention Centre (CCTA) on Thursday in the Province of Luanda as part of a special end of the year show.
The singer/songwriter is expected to sing hits such as "Magui", "Como Antes", "Teu Olhar", "Matemática do Amor", "Voltei com Ela", "Deus Sabe o que Faz" and "Papá".
The musician, who was born in Benguela Province, will also be joined by guest singers such as Justino Handanga, Yola Araújo, Chelsea Dinorath and Puto Português.
Matias Damásio began his career in the year 2000, singing at religious festivals.
At that time he took part for the first time in a television musical competition called "Estrelas ao Palco", and was one of the twelve finalists.
He then took part with Banda Maravilha band and musician João Alexandre in the "Domingão Coca-Cola" musical competition, where he won second place.
In 2003, Matias Damásio won another competition named Gala a Sexta-Feira on Angola 's state-owned public television (TPA), performing the song "Mãe querida". He also won the Luanda Song Festival and the Angolan Popular Music Festival dubbed Variante.
In October 2007, he won the seventeenth edition of the national radio (RNA)’s "Top dos Mais Queridos" (Best of the year) competition, with the song "Porquê".
In 2016, Matias Damásio achieved huge success in Portugal with the song "Loucos", a collaboration with the lead singer of the Portuguese band HMB, Héber Marques.
The song "Loucos" reached number 3 in the Portuguese singles chart.
