Luanda - The Secretary of State for Youth Francisco Chitapa Wednesday in Luanda appealed to the youth to understand and preserve the history of Angola to facilitate the transfer of this knowledge to future generations.
The Secretary of State, who was speaking at the tenth edition of the intergenerational meeting called "Two generations, one story", referred that the national liberation struggle deserves critical and in-depth studies in the different social sectors.
He advised the new generation to contribute to the country's development, as well as to valuing intergenerational knowledge.
“As Africans we must know that the elderly always represent the living libraries”, he said, stressing the need for a permanent dialogue with the youth and a commitment to promoting patriotic education.
In turn, the director of the National Youth Institute, Yuri Cardoso, explained that the meeting aimed to bring the older generation closer to youth, through tales of lived stories, in order to understand what happened before, during and after the February 4th.
To him, the 4th of February played an important role in the conquest of national independence on the 11th of November 1975. VS/ ASS
