Luanda - Angolan singer Bambila was one of the attractions at the International Solidarity Sounds Festival, held Saturday at the State Theatre in Pretoria, South Africa.
With the room practically packed, the audience sang and applauded the Angolan gospel singer, which surprised him with how receptive the South African public was.
Bambila travelled to South Africa under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Angola, due to an invitation from the Tshwane Gospel Choir.
The event was aimed at praising the dynamics of world leaders committed to building peace, a role in which the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, stands out on the African continent.
The CEO of the Tshwane Gospel Choir, Bheki Langa, considers Angola to be a nation of peace, which is why he expressed his intention to work with Angolan musicians to exchange experiences with representatives from Botswana, Cuba, Canada, Mozambique and Cameroon.
Angola's ambassador to South Africa, Rui Orlando Xavier, who attended the show, praised the initiative, highlighting the fact that it took place on the day of the celebration of the 36th anniversary of the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale (23 March), a date that symbolises the liberation of southern Africa.
