US President Joe Biden told reporters Sunday at the White House that "at some point" he would go to the U.S.-Mexico border, where his administration is scrambling to manage a growing humanitarian and political challenge.
The American administration, in this case represented by the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, defended the management of the immigration crisis and sent a clear message: "Do not come to the US".
Biden said that in addition to launching this 'slogan', the administration will take further action.
He said that they were in the process, including the guarantee of restoring what existed before," when immigrants could stay in the United States and file cases from their countries of origin.
On major American television stations, Mayorkas repeated the authorities' plea to immigrants not to travel to the country.
