Luanda - The Angolan Ministry of National Defense, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country, today, Friday, accredited new Defense Attachés from Spain and Pakistan.
These are the brigadier general of the Pakistani Armed Forces, Muhammed Bilal, and the colonel of the Spanish Armed Forces, Pedro António Martínez, presented in a ceremony held at the Army Command Headquarters (Ex-RI20).
The officers were accredited by the deputy national director of Defense Policy, José Catumbela, who, on the occasion, made it known that the two countries have a 'quite rich' history.
According to Catumbela, Pakistan has played a fundamental role since the beginning of its creation and is a nuclear power that has excellent knowledge that satisfies our exchange, so I hope we have a good relationship with very positive externalities” - he stressed.
Regarding Spain, he said he also hoped that the defense component would be strengthened to solidify the union. The director predicts that this accreditation will allow for better correspondence between the Armed Forces of the three countries.
In turn, when speaking at the event, the Attaché and Brigadier General of the Pakistani Armed Forces, Muhammed Bilal, highlighted that it was an honor to be accredited in Angola, because the Angolan defense believes in the Pakistani defense.
'There is a good relationship between Angola and Pakistan, and with this accreditation I will comply with Angola's rules and regulations, doing my best to strengthen and contribute to bilateral relations between the two countries', he emphasized.
The colonel of the Spanish Armed Forces, Pedro António Martínez, said he had the responsibility of strengthening existing relations between Spain and Angola, with the African state being very strategic for the European one. SL/MDS/DOJ
