Addis Ababa - The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia, Francisco José da Cruz, Monday received in an audience his Japanese counterpart, Horiuchi Toshihiko, with whom he discussed bilateral and multilateral issues.
During the meeting, the two diplomats talked about the functioning of the African Union (AU), namely the current process of Institutional Reforms, having the department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment, which has as commissioner the Angolan Josefa Sacko, raised particular interest of the Japanese ambassador.
In a statement, the press service of the Angolan Embassy to Ethiopia said that Francisco da Cruz and Horiuchi Toshihiko also used the meeting to analyse the performance of the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), namely the SADC and ECCAS.
They also discussed issues related to the fight against terrorism, maritime security and the Africa-Japan Cooperation Forum (TICAD), which has a meeting, at the level of Heads of State, scheduled for 2022, in Tunisia.
The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1976, a year after Angola achieved independence.
