Luanda - The Attorney General of the Republic, Hélder Pitta Gróz, is due to take part, from 23 to 24 August, in Sao Tome and Principe, in the 18th Meeting of Attorneys General of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP).
According to a statement issued to ANGOP on Sunday, the meeting will analyse, among others, issues related to justice of common interest for the organisation, such as "Public Prosecutor and the Democratic Rule of Law" and "Asset Recovery and Judicial Cooperation in CPLP".
The XVII Meeting of CPLP Attorneys-General was held in June 2019 in Maputo, Mozambique, under the theme "Reflecting on illegal immigration and human trafficking in the CPLP space".
The CPLP is an organisation formed by Portuguese-speaking countries, whose objective is the deepening of mutual friendship and cooperation among its members.
Founded on 17 July 1996 in Lisbon, the CPLP is made up of nine states, namely Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea, East Timor, Guinea Bissau and Portugal, the country that hosts the organisation's headquarters.
