Caxito - The country must be prepared for any military challenge and international peacekeeping operations, a high ranking Army officer said on Monday in northern Bengo province.
The Lt. Gen. Simão Carlitos “Wala” said that a peace operations training center was created in northern Bengo province to provide training to military, police and civilian staff.
“To achieve this goal, mainly at the levels of international military commitments, the country should be properly prepared for the effective fulfillment of these and other missions”, the FAA general officer told an opening ceremony of the preparatory schools for army personnel and other units.
Also, head of the Instruction and Teaching Directorate of the Army Command, Wala said that this year, the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), in particular the Army, have increased missions, in the context of staff preparation, military incorporation and passage through military academies and institutes, having requested greater responsibility from the personnel.
In turn, the commander of the FAA's Practical School of Construction, Lt Col. José Pedro, said that the opening of military schools and related units stimulates the staff for the demanding tasks.
The instructional year 2022/2023 is focused on instruction, training of troops, operational and combative preparation activities, patriotic education, as well as improving the accommodation conditions for the personnel and ensuring multilateral approach in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
So far 1,525 members have been trained in the various specialties from 2013.
