Luanda – Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António reaffirmed Thursday in Lisbon (Portugal), Angola's commitment to defending the interests of the Community of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).
This is expressed in a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Portugal, reached ANGOP on Thursday.
According to the sources, Téte António, who was speaking at the end of a meeting with the ambassadors of CPLP member countries, said that the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe will take over the organisation’s next presidency.
During his stay in Portugal, the Angolan top diplomat also held a working meeting with the executive secretary of the CPLP, Zacarias da Costa.
Created on July 17, 1996, the CPLP is an international organisation integrated by Portuguese-speaking countries, tasked with deepen friendship and cooperation among its members.
CPLP comprises Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and East Timor.
