Praia - Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António Monday considered the presence of the President João Lourenço in Cabo Verde an opportunity to strengthen existing ties between the countries.
Téte António was speaking to the press in Praia, Cabo Verde, where he is integrating the delegation of the Angolan Government led by President João Lourenço.
The Angolan president, João Lourenço, has been since Monday in Cabo Verde, along with other Heads of State, to attend the inauguration of the elected President, José Maria Neves, scheduled for this Tuesday.
According to Téte António, the existing bonds of friendship must be translated into bilateral cooperation.
"Cooperation is on the right path. We have had a general cooperation agreement since 1976," noted the minister, who stressed the importance of maintaining the legacy left by the historic leaders from Angola and Cabo Verde.
Both countries signed various bilateral protocols, with stress to visa waiver agreements, technical cooperation in different fields, such as education, defence, oil, diplomacy, agriculture, transport, finance and administration.
