Uíge – The provincial Office of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland in Uíge province registered 2,971 former pensioners in 2023.
This information was provided to ANGOP, on Monday, by the director of the Provincial Office of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Maria Pinto, pointing out as causes the non-attendance, departure of orphans over 35 years old, former combatants under 63 years old, duplicity of registration and incompatible documentation.
Maria Pinto said that, since 2020, when the re-registration process began, only 2,807 former combatants and veterans of the country in the region receive a pension.
She explained that the re-registration process had two phases, the first in 2020, interrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the second in 2023.
For this reason, the Provincial Office of Former Combatants is carrying out a new survey of registered pensioners, but their names are not on the payslips.
The Provincial Office in Uíge has former combatants, widows, orphans, companions and other people as pensioners. QJ/JAR/CF/DOJ
