Luanda – UNITA leader Adalberto Costa Júnior reiterated this Wednesday in Luanda the appeal for Angolans to go to polling stations in an "orderly and participatory" manner.
The candidate for President of the Republic was speaking to the press after casting his ballot in Nova Vida, municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, in Luanda, having expressed his satisfaction for exercising his right to citizenship.
Adalberto Costa Júnior, who was accompanied by his wife, is running for the first time for the position of President of the Republic.
In his last speech at the end of the electoral campaign, on Monday, the UNITA leader called for "massive voter participation, in an environment of peace and tranquility".
Since 1992, with the establishment of multiparty system in Angola, UNITA has participated in all elections and has been the main political party of the opposition.
Votes in previous elections:
1992: 34.1% (70 MPs);
2008: 10, 4% (16 MPs);
2012: 18.7% (32 MPs);
2017: 26.67% (51 MPs)
