Cuito - MPLA president Joao Lourenço arrived on Friday afternoon in Cuito, central Bié province, to preside over a mass political rally on Saturday, after Cuando Cubango province, where he also announced his party’s programme.
In central Bie province, João Lourenço was welcomed at Joaquim Capango airport by supporters, sympathizers and friends of MPLA.
Angop learnt that the MPLA's leader is expected to lay a wreath at the Memorial of the Martyrs of the Resistance of the Cuito war, after which he will go to the fair of the local produced agricultural products.
In the 2017 elections, MPLA managed to elect three members of parliament for the provincial constituency of Bié.
About 783,684 voters are eligible to cast their ballot in 861 polling stations in Bie province.
The country’s fifth elections are marked by the participation of Angolans residing abroad who will, for the first time, exercise their right to vote.
