Uíge – The chairman of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) Luís Monteiro defended Friday in northern Uíge province the need to improve working conditions in the country's courts, so that lawyers can improve the monitoring of cases of citizens in conflict with the law.
Luís Monteiro, who paid a two-day visit to the province of Uíge, assessed the work difficulties faced by lawyers in that region, preventing the population from having better service and monitoring in the context of legal assistance to citizens.
He pointed out the lack of a lawyers' room, procedural delays in the courts and other difficulties that prevent better legal assistance to citizens.
Regarding the delay in the proceedings, he is of the view that the representation of the Bar Association in the region should be strengthened, in order to improve legal assistance to citizens.
During his stay in the province of Uíge, the boss of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) chaired a round table on the theme “The role of the Lawyer in the Administration of Justice”.
