Cabinda - The Speaker of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, held separated meetings on Thursday in Cabinda with representatives of churches, business people, civil society and youth to hear their main concerns.
At the end of the meetings, which took place at the headquarters of the provincial support office for the National Assembly, Bishop Belmiro Chissenguenti defended the need to regulate the law on freedom of worship, in order to discipline the “religious proliferation” in the country.
He also mentioned that, in order to take care of people's conscience and religious conduct, it is necessary to place some limitations, and give theological and humanistic training, so that the religious venues do not turn in places of exploitation and destruction of culture.
He also indicated that they spoke about the role of churches in the mission of driving stability, unity and concord among citizens, for the preservation of cultural and social aspects.
The issue of illegal immigration was another topic of concern expressed by the Catholic prelate which, according to him, has become a problem that the country has been experiencing and that should deserve attention from the authorities.
The CICA representative in Cabinda, Reverend Albino Cassinda, highlighted that the concern focused on the need to improve the health assistance and education.
Meanwhile, businessman and member of the Council of the Republic, André Amorim, said that public debt and tax incentives, as well as the improvement of the special status for Cabinda, particularly in the area of tourism, service provision and basic food basket continue to be worrying and should deserve attention from the Executive due to high freight prices.
After the meetings, the president of AN visited the works of the Port Maritime Terminal at the Port of Cabinda and the Maternity 1º de Maio, the latter rehabilitated and expanded, just waiting for the equipment to come into operation.
