Cabinda – The commander of the Cabinda Military Region (RMC), Lieutenant General Tukikebi Tussen dos Santos ́, reaffirmed on Thursday that the province enjoys effective political-military stability, allowing the free movement of people and goods throughout its extension.
The senior officer of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) was speaking at the end of a meeting between the Chief of General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces, Aviation General, Altino dos Santos, with the Vice Governor of Cabinda for the Political and Social Area, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira.
“The situation in the region is calm, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces was able to verify on the spot, the life and normal functioning of the forces in the Cabinda Military Region,” he said.
He mentioned that the highest rank of the FAA was in Cabinda for three days where he learned about the readiness of the troops, their accommodation and the state of the means, in the different units attached to the RMC Brigades.
He also stressed that Altino dos Santos observed the morale of the troops for their patriotism and commitment that they show in the fulfillment of superior obligations and issued guidelines of encouragement within the troops for the continuous permanent readiness and above all in combative, operational, educational and patriotic preparation.
During the visit, Altino dos Santos traveled to the municipalities of the interior (Belize and Buco-Zau) where he held meetings with the troop leaderships in the units assigned to the 11th Infantry Brigade as well as in the 12th Brigade in the commune of Dinge/Cacongo, where he noted the high level of morale and readiness of the forces.
The province of Cabinda is bordered to the northeast by the departments (provinces) of Kouilou and Niari, Republic of the Congo (ROC) and to the northeast, southeast and south by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). ING/PL/VIC/TED/DOJ
