Cabinda - Angolan minister of Youth and Sports Ana Paula Sacramento Neto reiterated, in northern Cabinda province, the appeal to Angolan youth for active participation in the party of democracy, scheduled for next August.
Speaking at the Angolan Youth Day commemorative event, Ana Sacramento Neto asked the youth to participate in the country’s general elections next August.
To her, this appeal should be inspired by the thirty principles of the Young Exemplar booklet, recently launched by the Ministry, where it is encouraging moral values and patriotism, tolerance, solidarity, promotion of a culture of peace, an educational instrument.
She also mentioned that this year's Young April Activities takes place at a significant moment, as it brings a special environment for all the Angolan people.
"The challenges of the moment demand from everyone a spirit of resilience to continue to dream and believe in building a better Angola for everyone from Cabinda to Cunene", she said.
The minister underlined that the young Angolan is challenged to reinvent himself every day to make the crisis an opportunity to overcome his difficulties and achieve his goals.
The minister said that in the last few years, several legal instruments were approved to reinforce the State's role in protecting and supporting the development of youth, with emphasis on the approval of the national youth policy and the creation of the national youth prize to stimulate creativity, merit and excellence.
Ana Neto underlined that sexual education and reproductive health of adolescents and young people continues to be the government’s top priority , which has prompted the implementation of projects nationwide to maximize the access to information.
In his turn, Cabinda's vice-governor for political and social sector, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira, said the local government will continue to give a special attention to youth, by creating more concrete programmes.
