Cabinda - The Minister of State and Head of the Security House of the President of the Republic, Francisco Pereira Furtado, reaffirmed Tuesday, in Cabinda, the need to preserve peace, achieved with much sweat among Angolans.
Francisco Pereira Furtado made these statements during the ceremony of delivery of 34 vehicles and 35 motorbikes to the Cabinda Military Region (RMC), as part of the process of modernization of the units and sub-units.
He said that the equipment will allow the Cabinda Military Region to be safer for patrol missions, search, disembarkation and logistical support to the units.
He also said that other means will be delivered, soon, with the launching of the National Police Reaction and Patrol Unit, as well as the delivery of means to other bodies.
With that, he explained, the process of improving the conditions for the troops and personnel of the National Police (PN) will begin.
He appealed to the CMR personnel to fulfil, with zeal and dedication, the tasks of national defence, as well as the patriotic missions of maintaining the inviolability of the borders and the sovereignty of the country's soil before, during and after the general elections, to be held on 24 August.
For the Minister of State and of the House of Security, the elections mean peace, stability, freedom and consolidation of democracy.
Francisco Furtado was accompanied to the city of Cabinda by the Minister of National Defence and National Veterans, João Ernesto dos Santos, the Chief of the General Staff of the FAA, António Egídio de Sousa dos Santos, and the second commander-general of the National Police, António Pedro Kandela.
On the occasion, the provincial governor, Marcos Nhunga, said that the reinforcement of resources to the Cabinda Military Region will allow the actions aimed at maintaining peace in the region to be redoubled.
