Luanda - The Angolan president, João Lourenço, accepted Thursday in Luanda, the invitation of the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez Pérez Castejón, for an official visit to this European country.
The invitation, made during the 48-hour visit that the Spanish leader made to the Angolan capital, President João Lourenço responded positively, with only the adjustments to set the date still pending.
Regarding this visit by President João Lourenço, Pedro Sánchez Pérez Castejón said, at the opening of the talks between ministerial delegations, that he hoped it would soon take place in order to strengthen even more the relations between the two states.
During Pedro Sánchez's stay, delegations from both countries initialled memoranda of understanding in the agriculture, fisheries, industry, trade/tourism and air transport sectors.
The President of the Spanish government, who has already left the Angolan capital, also took part in the Business Forum between the two countries and visited several projects.
Bilateral cooperation relations between Angola and the Kingdom of Spain are based on the General Cooperation Agreement signed on 20 May 1987, and the Complementary Agreement to the General Agreement signed in November 1987.
