Luanda - Angola’s Cabinet Council created Tuesday the National Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development, whose function is to ensure the implementation of the policies of science, technology and innovation.
The information is contained in a press release from the 5th meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
According to the source, the foundation has also the task of managing the financial resources of the General State Budget (OGE) and others from donations for scientific research and development.
The institution will also accredit institutions dedicated to research and development in the country, in order to increase efficiency in the use of available financial resources and support for national scientific production.
The Council also approved the labour process code, a diploma that aims to systematise, harmonise and bring together the labour procedural rules in force and adapt them to the constitutional reality and the new context of legal-labour relations and labour conflicts.
The meeting also approved the proposals for exemption from visas in diplomatic, service and ordinary passports with the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe and for the movement of people along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The participants appreciated the memorandums of intent for the constitution of a permanent joint commission between Angola and the DRC and on cooperation in the field of training and management of teaching staff with Norway.
The session also analised the agreement between Angola and China for the exchange of information on the sending of Chinese medical teams to perform the second phase of the technical assistance project to the Luanda General Hospital.
On the other hand, the Cabinet Council gave green light to the organic statutes of the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (INAMET), of the Institute for Quality Control Industry and Commerce and the Institute of National Languages.
