Conakry – Angola’s president João Lourenço Friday in Conakry, Guinea, appealed for the liberalisation of COVID vaccine patents to allow an increase in its production and reduce prices.
During an official dinner hosted by the host, Alpha Condé, as part of his two-day state visit, João Lourenço described as necessary and unavoidable the process.
He said that the liberalisation of vaccine patents would reduce inequalities in access to vaccines by less developed countries such as ours, which are once again treated unequally.
The president spoke of the need for the African countries to combine effort to overcome the pandemic and better explore mechanisms for accessing vaccines.
