MPs to analyse State’s General Account in January

  • Presidente da Assembleia Nacional, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos
Luanda – The National Assembly (parliament) will analyse on 27 January, 2021, the State’s General Account for the 2018 fiscal year.

The agreement came out of last Thursday’s parliamentary whips meeting.

To the whip of the ruling MPLA party, Américo Cuononoca, the State’s General Account is a fundamental tool in the monitoring of the activities of the government by the MPs.

On his turn, Lucas Ngonda, head of FNLA party and its sole representative in the National Assembly, said that the MPs have the task to monitor the actions of the government, thus the State’s General Account is a very important instrument in this work of the MPs, which gives credibility to the institutions of the country.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly is resuming its monthly debates on 21 January 2021, by tackling the topic “fight against impunity as key factor for good governance”.

The debates were cancelled in the end of the previous legislature, which means next January’s discussion will represent the resumption of the monthly parliamentary debate.
