Ndalatando - Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Ndalatando, northern Cuanza Norte province, Dom Almeida Kanda Tuesday appealed to the leaders with the parties competing in the general elections of 24 August to transmit messages of peace and harmony.
Speaking to ANGOP, the Catholic prelate also asked politicians to encourage their supporters to take the electoral process with responsibility and
respect for difference.
He also advised party leaders to mobilise the citizens for the conscious and responsible participation in this election.
Data from the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE) show that the province of Cuanza Norte has 249,717 voters, 317 polling stations and 523
voting tables.
Eight political parties, including one coalition are running for the fifth general election on August 24, after those held in 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.
Roughly 14.3 million voters, of whom 22,560 living abroad are eligible to cast their vote in the upcoming elections.
