Brasilia - The voting process abroad, scheduled for 24 August this year, was addressed Friday at a meeting of the Angolan Embassy in Brazil with Angolan community leaders in the State of Sao Paulo.
About 3,800 Angolan citizens live in the State of Sao Paulo, from that number about 1,181 are eligible to vote.
During the activity, the Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Florêncio de Almeida, after talking about the different stages related to the organisation of this process in Brazil, which will take place abroad for the first time, appealed for mass turnout at the ballot.
According to the diplomat, the conditions for the success of the electoral process are in place, the additional organisational aspects are in progress as well. On the election day two polling stations will be available in Sao Paulo, one in Rio de Janeiro and one in Brasilia, he disclosed
On his turn, the Angolan citizen Kinkela Koffi stressed the importance of the clarification meeting; he admitted that doubts have been overcome, so information will be shared.
Angola is holding its fifth general elections on 24 August this year, with 13 political parties, five of which are coalitions.
