Longonjo - The MPLA's first secretary in Huambo province, Lotti Nolika, this Friday in the municipal town of Longonjo, reaffirmed a continued focus on diversifying the economy, with a focus on fighting poverty and unemployment.
The party leader was speaking at a mass political pre-campaign event held in Longonjo with over 1,000 people, including militants, sympathisers and friends of MPLA in the municipality.
He stressed that MPLA's governance programme, in case of victory in the general elections on 24 August, foresees modernising the country, with a serious bet on the diversification of the economy, youth and gender parity, for a more global and contextualised performance capable of responding positively to the challenges of the moment.
The party member said that the Angolan government, backed by the MPLA, had implemented the Programme to Support Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (PRODESI), with the aim of resizing domestic production of goods and services.
This strategy, she said, aims to ensure the diversification of the local economy, with the perspective of fortifying the business exchange.
